The Role

Christ the King College is a joint Church of England and Catholic College on the Isle of Wight, providing a Christian education underpinned by Gospel values and reflecting both Church of England and Catholic traditions. It operates under the auspices of both the Church of England and Catholic Dioceses of Portsmouth. The school has over 1,100 students on roll, including a Sixth Form College of about 200 students. It is a well-established comprehensive school, which is well supported by parents and highly respected in the community.


We are seeking well-qualified and experienced graduates to teach their specialist subject throughout Key Stages 3 and 4, Key Stage 5 would be desirable. The successful candidates will have the ability and motivation to inspire our students and to enthuse a passion for their subject in them. Through the continued development of outstanding teaching and learning, you will ensure that our students achieve the highest possible outcomes. Experience within the secondary school sector, a determination for our students to achieve the highest standards and an understanding of the distinctiveness of a Christian College are desirable.

This vacancy is for a Maternity Cover for 12 months. The fixed term contract for the Maternity Cover comes to an end at the end of the 52 week maternity leave or sooner if the substantive post holder returns with due notice being given. However, there is a possibility that the position may become permanent in the future
